Call sheet 1 - Burn Valley Gardens
Risk Assessment
When filming our music video we will have to think carefully about the risks that could be involved. When in the Burn Valley, we will have to look at the surroundings and location that we choose to film the scene in and make sure there isn’t any bottles, rubbish or any kind of litter about that we could sit/stand on that we could hurt ourselves on, also make sure we keep away from dog walkers as people often let their dogs off in the burn valley for exercise and play. Setting up the camera and tripod in the burn valley we will have to pick a secure part where there is no hills or bumps in the ground as then there is no risk of the tripod falling over etc… and getting broken. Problems could occur with the weather when filming too. As we have designed out a shooting calendar for outdoor areas, if it is raining when we come to shoot in the burn valley then we will have to re arrange our schedule for the next day or change it for a day when we are supposed to be shooting in the video room for green screens. Also in regards to the song, we will have to come up with a plan were we can here the song playing so we can lip sync to it when we are recording, however not having the song on film as it will most likely be on an IPod attached to a docking station were we can hear the song out loud. We will take into consideration the surroundings and atmosphere and will film in a place where nobody is or let the public know that we are going to be filming there for a little while and may have some music on.
Regarding SKY Lounge, when filming in there, because we only have a short space of time to use the club, we will have to make sure that everything is set up quite quickly. By doing this we will check the floor for any broken glasses or bottles and anything that we could trip or fall on. Because we are going to be walking along the bar with heels on, we will make sure there is somebody there off camera watching us for if we fall or stumble they will be there to catch us or help us keep stable. Also because it is a club, there will be alcohol involved. We are going to make sure nothing is consumed when filming, but to make it look like a party atmosphere, have glasses out and and bottles etc… but being under supervision by someone who works at SKY to make sure nothing is taken or stole.
For the street scenes of our video when the characters are ‘fighting’ and arguing, we are going to make sure this looks as professional and realistic as possible, however putting our safety and safety of the characters first by making sure we film as far away as needed to create the scene. We will have to look out for the public in the street also when filming as we are going to be in a public place, however this part of the music video will only take up to the most 20 minutes to film as it is going to be just a snippet of the song.
When using the TV studio, we are going to have to be careful with the objects around us like speakers, screens, computers and other filming equipment. This is just to make sure that we don’t trip over any unwanted wires etc… before filming we will scan the area thoroughly to remove any unwanted items away from where we are filming.
In regards to costumes, maxi dresses are going to be warn in the burn valley. As these are long dresses we will make sure we don’t trip over them or get them caught in the tripod or camera as these could be ripped therefore would have to be paid for and also would ruin the video as we would have to rearrange our costumes.
